Impact of job strain and being overweighton indusry's middle and senior managers.

What is it about?

The main topic of this investigation is the relationship between job strain and being overweight. Job strain was studied taking into consideration Karasek’s widely known Job Demand-ControlSocial Support Model (DCSSM) as a theoretical framework. Concerning the Mexican context, which is the focus of this study, the WHO reports that Mexico features the highest rate of job strain in the world, with 75% of Mexican employees suffering from work stress. Additionally, these numbers could be increasing as between 30 and 60% of Mexican workers approximately admit having to comply with high job demands.

Why is it important?

This publication is important since job strain has been associated with serious adverse effects on human health such as obesity, overweight, and the increase in cardiovascular, respiratory, gastrointestinal, and other types of disorders, which affect a person’s physical and mental wellbeing.
