Intervention model for soldiers with combat stress reaction

What is it about?

The paper describes an OT intervention program for people with combat stress reaction

Why is it important?

The first 48 hours after soldiers encounter potentially traumatic events are critical. It is vital to prevent soldiers from feeling that their feelings of continuity are not interrupted so that they, for example, not stop viewing themselves as soldiers but as "patients". Occupational Therapy, as a discipline that is focused on normal functioning rather than pathology is useful in helping soldiers in such conditions. This paper describes how this kind of intervention can work.
