A new and simple explanation of a debilitating disease of the inner ear

What is it about?

Menière's disease in a disabling inne ear disease which has been first describen in 1861. It's pathophysiology is still not understood and there is no evidence based treatment except destroying the function of the vestibular organ, which is often accompanied by hearimg loss.

Why is it important?

This hypothesis describes a unique pathophysiology of Menière's disease. It explains the attacks of simulatenous cochlear and vestibular symptoms, development of endolymphatic hydrops as well as the close connection of Menière's disease and Migraine.
