Control Design of DSTATCOM using amplitude adaptive notch filter

What is it about?

This paper presents the application of a three-phase four-leg Distribution Static Compensator (DSTATCOM) in a three-phase four-wire distribution system for power quality improvement purposes.

Why is it important?

DSTATCOM is used for harmonics elimination, load balancing, reactive power compensation, and neutral current compensation under linear and nonlinear loads. An amplitude adaptive notch filter (AANF) is applied to estimate the frequency and harmonic components of the input signals, and generate the reference signals. This algorithm is accurate, simple and provides a better appropriate convergence speed compared to the adaptive notch filter.
