Alzheimer’s disease represents the most common type of neurodegenerative dementia. Increasing evidence has been accumulating over the past years, supporting a pivotal role of inflammation in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease. Recent studies showed that the role of B lymphocytes may be important. This review summarizes the evidence supporting the role of B lymphocytes in Alzheimer’s disease from the pathogenesis to the possible therapeutic implications.
