Opportunities to reduce new nurses' burnout

What is it about?

Burnout affects nurses worldwide. To identify opportunities for leaders to reduce burnout among new nurses, a study was conducted from a cohort survey. This study shows specific ways that leaders can reduce new nurses' burnout.

Why is it important?

Our findings can help leaders strengthen their skills and provide ways for nurses to reduce their burnout. Decreased burnout has been associated with reduced turnover, which is paramount during the nursing shortage; and increased patient satisfaction, which increases the chance that patients are likely to return to a hospital if treatment is needed again.
