Learning and developing ICT skills from friends

What is it about?

Teachers and learning experts want to ensure that students learn and develop their ICT skills in schools to prepare themselves for this information-based society. This study explored how university students in a developing country learn and develop their ICT skills. Students reported that they learned most from their friends through informal communication. They even learned more from YouTube and manuals than the ICT courses of their schools.

Why is it important?

This study introduces a process model that portraits how informal learning takes place among the learners.
