Whole blood viscosity and primary idiopathic complete atrioventricular block

What is it about?

Idiopathic complete heart block is one of the most common cardiac presentations of the fibrotic process increasing with aging in the elderly population. Whole blood viscosity also increases with aging and is associated with cardiovascular adverse events. In this study, we aimed to investigate the relationship between whole blood viscosity and complete heart block.

Why is it important?

In this study, we showed that increased blood viscosity may play a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of idiopathic complete heart block.
