Ī‘ spectrophotometric method for the assessment of claudication in peripheral arterial disease (PAD)

What is it about?

It is shown, for the first time, that a second derivative spectrophotometric technique can discriminate (pā€Š=ā€Š0.003) healthy subjects from PAD patients, in just 15 seconds of standing, with no exercise requirement.

Why is it important?

It is important because it is shown that there is no exercise requirement which is the ultimate goal of all spectrophotometric diagnostic techniques.
