muscle strength and spinal-pelvic parameters

What is it about?

The trunk muscles are responsible for maintaining normal posture and dynamic stability of the spine as well as achieving proper motor function. This research intends to analyse the correlation between the trunk extensor function and the spinal-pelvic parameters in patients with degenerative spinal deformity

Why is it important?

Our findings show that the decline in trunk extensor strength in DSD patients is a type of local muscle dysfunction more closely related to the deformity, which is likely involved in the compensatory mechanism of DSD and may reflect the overall imbalance of the trunk.
