Mortality and recurrence outcomes of breast-conserving surgery in breast cancer patients

What is it about?

The triple-negative breast cancer is an aggressive subtype of breast cancer. This study shows that breast-conserving surgery has equivalent outcomes (mortality and recurrence of disease) to total mastectomy. We used the propensity score analysis to balance the variables in both groups.

Why is it important?

Female patients with this aggressive breast cancer subtype can choose breast-conserving surgery without worrying if the disease will impact her mortality or recurrence of the disease.
