This article explains the current chaos in the Middle East using a Neo-Ottomanist perspective.

What is it about?

Using latest statistics of human cost of war and conflict, along with the most recent scholarship, the article documents that the masses have lost in the Muslim Core, while a few dynasties have gained. No exit in the short-term is seen from the current chaos, but in the longer-term a ray of hope exists in the emerging new Silk Route Economy, extending from China to Istanbul.
