What is it about?

Over the years, many food products have become available year-round in many industrialised countries. Although this may be convenient, we have also lost something:

Why is it important?

Products in season often have better quality or a longer shelf-life. In addition, when products are always available, we don't look forward to them anymore and foods do no longer connect us to the seasonal changes in weather conditions.
