A case for somatic practices as embodied mindfulness

What is it about?

This article presents an argument on how somatic practice is a form of embodied mindfulness, both from a historical roots/values-based and cognitive psychological perspective. It discusses shared values of somatic and mindfulness practices as well as a theory on shared cognitive repatterning.

Why is it important?

This work bridges the gap between somatic practices and mindfulness practices. It also offers a cognitive psychological model for how mental patterning is changed through embodied somatic movement practices.
