Design as an emerging, non-sequential process

What is it about?

It is about changing our mindset about the design process, as well as the way design is being taught in universities. It suggests mixing practice, learning and research altogether and moving away from sequential processes of design, as well as design disciplinary boundaries such as graphic design or industrial design.

Why is it important?

Designers increasingly need to deal with multi-dimensional problems which cannot be framed within conventional disciplinary boundaries. Therefore a change in design learning and practice is needed.
