Group coleader conflict

What is it about?

Coleader alliance rupture and repair is an understudied area in group psychotherapy. The current paper examines ruptures in the coleader relationship and their repair through the lens of attachment and interpersonal integrative group theory. Contextual considerations are discussed as well as an overview of the importance of ruptures and repair in the group coleader alliance.

Why is it important?

Rupture and repair has been explored in the context of individual counseling and psychotherapy. We apply this construct to group psychotherapy and offer examples of how to effectively resolve conflict between coleaders (including cross cultural coleader dyads) in group psychotherapy.
