Workplace factors associated with perceived reasonable workload

What is it about?

We studied workplace factors associated with reporting reasonable workload among behavioral health providers within the Veterans Health Administration. We found that having attainable performance goals and being able to schedule patients as frequently as needed were most strongly related to reporting reasonable workload.

Why is it important?

Healthcare leadership may consider focusing resources on initiatives that support behavioral health provider autonomy to schedule patients at their desired frequency and develop attainable performance goals.
