Reimbursement for audio and video mental health consultations should be universal.

What is it about?

Federal telehealth regulations prior to covid did not allow reimbursement of any audio visits, or of video visits in metropolitan areas where most African American and Hispanic patients live. They were racially discriminatory. and should be changed.

Why is it important?

Policy changes following recent research are required to enable patients to be treated using telepsychiatry anytime, anywhere, especially patients from diverse racial backgrounds
