What is it about?

Self-injury is a common and serious mental health concern that significantly increases the risk for death by suicide. Unfortunately, self-injury is also highly stigmatised and misunderstood, which makes it difficult for people who have self-injured to discuss their experiences. The current paper therefore presents an approach to use during interactions with individuals with lived experience that can enhance service provision and outcomes for everyone involved.
