What is it about?

A university-based research team partnered with a public-health administrator to improve access to depression treatment among impoverished, low-income mothers served by a state's maternal health clinics. The research team contributed their expertise in Listening Visits, an empirically supported treatment delivered by home-visitors. The public health administrator contributed logistical access to the maternal-health clinics, fiscal resources and credibility/accountability. Academic-services partnerships is a promising strategy to implement other evidence-based practices into clinical settings.
