What is it about?

There is little knowledge of the psychosis literacy of racial or ethnic minority communities, that is their understanding and recognition of psychosis, especially of persons seeking services for their first episode of psychosis and caregivers. They found low levels of psychosis literacy especially among consumers. Efforts to increase psychosis literacy in Latino communities have the potential to reduce the delay in seeking needed services and to engage persons with psychotic disorders and their family members in mental health care.
