What is it about?

This article is about Turkic-rooted Mandarin functional expressions (7 selected) as a first glance. The project actually would have at least ten times more functional expressions identified as Turkic rooted as happened in the 5th century Turkic conquest of China and ruled it for nearly two hundred years.

Why is it important?

The Turkic etymons of the various Mandarin grammatical items offer a succinct interpretation for the intrinsic semantic contents of the identified terms, which otherwise have been subject to unnecessary overly complex scholarly studies. In light of the Turkic etymology identifed, the traditional studies of Mandarin grammar have the tendency to be of over-analyses or under-analyses.
