What is it about?

The standard X-ray rocking curves show the dependence of a crystal reflection coefficient on the deviation of the incident beam from the exact Bragg orientation in the diffraction plane. In this paper the reflection coefficient dependence is investigated both for deviations of the incident beam in the diffraction plane and in the plane perpendicular to the diffraction plane.

Why is it important?

Usually in the experiments the incident beams have a divergence both in the diffraction plane and in the plane perpendicular to the diffraction plane. These investigations improve the solutions of the standard theory taking into account the divergence of the incident wave in both above mentioned directions.
