Wide Angle X-ray Scattering applied to a Cm-doped borosilicate glass

What is it about?

This work relates to the Wide Angle X-ray Scattering (WAXS) technique applied to a Cm-doped borosilicate glass. Synchrotron radiation was used with an energy of 50 keV. All the correction procedure to obtain the so-called structure factor is explained. Incoherent scattering is correctly described.

Why is it important?

This is the first time that a Cm-doped borosilicate glass is beeing investigated by WAXS technique. Striking differences appear under the so-called fisrt sharp diffraction peak vs that of the pristine glass.
