differences in the appeal of entrepreneurship

What is it about?

Entrepreneurship is usually seen as a good thing, so it is encouraged by politicians and others. Our study looks at how young people feel about entrepreneurship. We found remarkable differences across Europe. Some nationalities were very keen to be entrepreneurs, yet others disliked the idea. Interestingly, many wanted to encourage entrepreneurship, but not for themselves.

Why is it important?

Entrepreneurship is often portrayed as universally appealing. Yet this study showed substantial cultural differences in the appeal of being an entrepreneur. Culture clearly matters.
