What is it about?

This study touches a new area in second and foreign language learning and this is the commonality shared between fluid intelligence (the ability to use reason and logic to solve problems) and the ability to use connectors in L2 writing performance. Therefore, exposure to the elements of fluid intelligence may result in improvement in writing performance in L2 in which connectives play an important role. These common elements are Working memory capacity, logical reasoning and visua-spatial ability.

Why is it important?

The significance of the present study mainly refers to the activation of a type of intelligence which has never been dealt with in TEFL/TESOL literature through an experimental study which is ultimately conducive to academic success.
