Demetaphorization process in translation

What is it about?

Explicitation is claimed to be a characteristic of translated texts. Why is it important?

The production of more or less informationally dense translated texts was investigated from the perspective of the translation process. We found out that translators' target texts tend to be less informationally dense than the originals due to translators' option of producing less ambiguous texts.
