Analysis and comparison of previous studies focusing on in-service CLIL teachers' training needs

What is it about?

The lack of qualified teachers for CLIL is one of the main threats to CLIL sustainability. This study analysis other research to identify what the most common training needs are. We have found that all CLIL teachers, independently of their experience, report language and methodological training needs. Nevertheless, training should vary depending on teachers' experience in CLIL settings, because their needs vary over time.

Why is it important?

We identify what the most common training needs are and when they tend to appear. This study can contribute to adjust CLIL teacher education and plan the training along teachers' professional career.
