What is it about?

I wil present how Gbaya, an Ubangian (Niger-Congo) language spoken in the north-west of the Central African Republic (GYA), vague references function. Gbaya is an entirely orally transmitted language. Typologically, it is an isolating language with very weak morphologiy and no gender or number agreement.

Why is it important?

A treatment of vague reference according to whether the referent is human or not, like personal pronouns which, in Gbaya, refer only to humans.
