Constructions can be turned into compositions in grammar.

What is it about?

If we have a curved rubber bend, we can stretch it into a straight line. In grammar, construction is like the curved rubber bend, and structure is like a straight line. By stretching the curve into a line, we make the two forms represent the same content.

Why is it important?

If composition in grammar is the only tool we can apply well, then we need to turn a construction into a structure for grammatical analysis.
