Fashion language and translatology

What is it about?

A collocational method of the noun fashion can be applied to any language, but for ease of comprehensibility, collocations are usually presented in the form of colligations. (Bojović 2010, 138) Collocation relationships are influenced by the lexical-semantic system and they cannot be accidental. It is known that this is happening because of restrictions on the combination of lexemes in syntagmatic relation. The number of collocations is still limited, regardless of their number, and this applies to both a syntagmatic and paradigmatic plan.

Why is it important?

Fashion is a complex system of signs that represents the social codes that clothing conveys. The semantic and translatological analysis here presented is my presentation of fashion language, Anglicisms, collocations and idioms, and the results of these processes which are in communicatively adequate translatological codes and aspects of meaning transfer into English and Montenegrin/Serbian (Anglicisms). Fashion plays a leading role in public life. Through their level of engagement, public personae from the world of art, music, fashion and politics, as well-known officials, actors or celebrities, have become new trend-setters in all societies and fashion dictators, because they set the trends and fashion standards which others follow.
