Is dominance why we resist dialogue with Others?

What is it about?

In order to investigate the possible role of a Social Dominance Orientation in interracial dialogue resistance, three studies were conducted. All three studies confirmed a seminal role for this foundational orientation to social group relations.

Why is it important?

Dialogue is the means by which we move forward together as a community. It's critical to recognize that not everyone is an eager participant in such dialogue. This is the first study to identify Social Dominance Orientation as a potential root of such resistance.
