What is it about?
We present a plasma X-ray source that is available for users for time-resolved experiments. The ultrashort pulse duration allows tracking processes as fast as units of picoseconds. We describe the main parameters of the source and its application in diffraction and X-ray spectroscopy as well as compare its performance with similar sources and large-scale alternatives as XFELs and synchrotrons.
Why is it important?
We present a plasma X-ray source suitable for time-resolved experiments. Its sub-picosecond resolution makes it an alternative for large-scale facilities such as XFEL and synchrotron. Diffraction and X-ray spectroscopy are feasible using a stroboscopic or multiplexing approach.
