What is it about?
This study explores that narrative skills of Spanish-English bilingual adolescents. Specifically it explores how the ratio of language exposure to Spanish and English relates to various narrative microstructure indexes and to narrative comprehension and oral narration skills.
Why is it important?
This study is important because the narrative skills of bilingual adolescents are often compared to monolingual English speakers, that is idealized speakers. Here, the narrative skills of bilingual adolescents are centered and described based on the language exposure of this demographic.
