Social-Pragmatic Understanding in Children With Hearing Loss
What is it about?
Social-pragmatic understanding means the ability to interpret intentions of other people from social contexts. Our study explored the development of social-pragmatic understanding of children with bilateral hearing aids, bilateral cochlear implants, and typical hearing between the ages of 4 and 6 years, and group differences between the aforementioned groups of children.
Why is it important?
Difficulties in social-pragmatic understanding may have prominent consequences for the quality of life. Gaining knowledge on social-pragmatic understanding of children with hearing loss can help in developing better hearing health care and intervention methods for children with hearing loss.
