Participant Outcomes for CAAST when Administered via Telehealth
What is it about?
Combined Aphasia and Apraxia of Speech Treatment (CAAST) is an evidence-based treatment for individuals with both aphasia and apraxia of speech. This treatment targets response elaboration and sound production. This study sought to verify the efficacy of CAAST when administered via telehealth platforms.
Why is it important?
Telehealth became a much needed modality of treatment following the events of the COVID-19 pandemic. With telehealth's success, it is a medium which has continued to be employed. There are variables that arise when adding technology to a behavioral treatment and this study sought to confirm that CAAST was viable and efficacious via telehealth.
