Hearing healthcare stakeholders' perspectives on teleaudiology

What is it about?

Healthcare service delivery was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic and hearing healthcare was no exception. Consequently, teleaudiology received increasing attention as an alternative means to deliver audiology services. To better promote teleaudiology uptake in the future, understanding the hearing healthcare stakeholders' perspectives on teleaudiology implementation is crucial. This paper explored how teleaudiology was perceived by Australian-based clients, clinicians, students, academics, and industry partners to inform future teleaudiology implementation.

Why is it important?

This study was the first to explore how audiology students, academics, and industry partners perceive teleaudiology. Inclusion of these stakeholders' opinions provides a more holistic approach to devising and refining teleaudiology implementation strategies.
