Using Yoga to Improve Aphasia

What is it about?

Recently, the literature has witnessed a surging interest regarding the use of mind-body approaches with people who have aphasia. In this paper, key stakeholders, including survivors, co-survivors, and a clinician share their personal narratives regarding their yoga journey, to help identify how yoga helped them with their stroke recovery. Ultimately, we hope this paper helps clinicians understand how yoga might benefit their patients.

Why is it important?

This is important because traditional aphasia assessments that speech-language pathologists use, do not capture the improvements stakeholders pinpoint as crucial to the essence of yoga-based interventions.
