What is it about?
Classrooms are well known as noisy and reverberant places. (Reverberation is the reflection of sound off walls and other flat surfaces.) Children with hearing aids can have significant difficulty understanding a teacher and peers in the classroom, leading to academic and other problems. This study measured the reductions in noise and reverberation that allow children with hearing aids to hear the speech of others.
