Language Performance of Individuals at Risk for Mild Cognitive Impairment
What is it about?
Language performance deficits can appear early, even before impairment in episodic memory, visuospatial construction ability or impairment or significant change in mental status or visuospatial construction ability, in individuals at risk for MCI. Speech-language pathologists are uniquely qualified to identify subtle changes in language and standardized language tests with normative data should be used when testing for MCI.
Why is it important?
Findings from this study suggest guidelines that can facilitate the identification and management of individuals with MCI.
