Norms for the FAVRES TEST in the french speaking population of Canada.
What is it about?
Our study aimed at establish norms for a test of verbal abilities called "FAVRES", in the french speaking population of Canada. This test is commonly used to assess communication in individuals who suffered from a traumatic brain injury. We found that, as a group, healthy participants who speak french obtained different (somewhat lower) results than healthy participants who speaks english.
Why is it important?
While interpreting the results of a patient who had a traumatic brain injury and whose mother language is french, it is important to consider the norms of the french speaking population established in this study. If otherwise compared to the english norms, the patient could be more severely noted than expected.
