What is it about?

We have developed a fast, automated test of the ability to benefit from differences in the perceived locations of talkers in a complex acoustical environment. This paper shows that the test is very reliable over repeated testing.

Why is it important?

Spatial hearing declines with age and hearing loss but varies greatly among people. This test can be used to quickly assess how well a given person can use spatial cues.
