What is it about?

Children with difficulties in their spoken language are at high risk for difficulty in learning to read. It is important to identify early on which of these children will experience reading difficulties so that they can receive the help they need. We found that certain language and emergent literacy skills measured in preschool are good predictors of who will or will not be good readers at the end of kindergarten.
