Most who responded to advertisements to participate chose to complete the questionnaire online (95%)
What is it about?
Tinnitus has important consequences for psychological wellbeing. Participants (n=342) recruited to a study to understand psychological factors around tinnitus were offered the opportunity to take part online or on paper questionnaires. The preference was overwhelmingly for online data collection (95%) and this paper discusses the advantages and disadvantages of the different methods of data collection.
Why is it important?
There are consequences to only offering one type of response, and whilst many preferred online, there is an advantage to offering different options.
